Scope of Confined Space Entrant AttendantTraining:
This course gives added reinforcement for safe operating procedures and the necessary equipment to accomplish safe and efficient operations. The course also exposes students to new equipment technology and equipment options for different situations that may be encountered on the job. It will involve hands-on scenarios that will include choosing proper fall protection equipment, recognizing confined space hazards, and planning tasks at elevation.
Confined Space Entrant Attendant Course Objective:
Upon completion of the course, a student trainee should
be able to:
- Define Permit-Required Confined Space
- Identify the confined spaces in their workplace
- List the five main types of hazardous atmosphere
- Discuss physical hazards that may be encountered
- Complete an entry permit
- Discuss hazard control techniques
- Discuss when respirators are necessary
- Define the role of the Entrant, Attendant, Supervisor, and Rescuer
